We’ve got exciting news for north end folks looking for fresh, organic produce: Clean Greens Farm & Market, a black-owned and operated farm located in Duvall now has a pick up site for their community supported agriculture (CSA) boxes in the Ravenna neighborhood!
That’s right, all you radical, north Seattle food activists can now support a black-run business and get your daily dose of yum! Historically, Clean Greens has sold in the Central District and south end, to ensure fresh, organic produce was accessible to communities of color and low-income folks.
For those unfamiliar with CSAs, they are one of the most direct farm to table access points to fresh produce, outside of having your own garden/farm or going to the farmers market. Local farms provide weekly subscriptions to a box of produce that is either delivered to your door or picked up at a designated spot. This is a fun opportunity to build relationships with a local farm and explore a variety of produce grown in the area.
As Clean Greens CSA subscribers, we can personally attest to how wonderful this farm is! Not only is the produce great, but the farmers and operators are deeply committed to community driven change in our local food system.
